Classic Blackjack
Classic blackjack is the standard form of the game — beat the dealer to 21 with the usual hit, stand, double and split options — delivering a house edge near 0.5% when played with basic strategy and a 3:2 blackjack payout.
| House Edge | ~0.5% (basic strategy, 3:2) |
|---|---|
| Blackjack Pays | 3 to 2 |
| Decks | Typically 1–8 |
The standard rules
Classic blackjack uses the familiar ruleset: the dealer draws to 16 and stands on 17, a natural blackjack pays 3:2, and players may double on any two cards and split pairs. It is the baseline against which every other variant is measured, and the version basic-strategy charts are built for.
Frequently asked questions
Is classic blackjack the best version?
It is the benchmark. With 3:2 payouts and favourable rules it offers one of the lowest house edges of any casino game.
